Parent Participation
Parents are being asked to participate in their childrens’ education by volunteering 10 hours a
year per family. If parents cannot make this time commitment, they are welcomed
to instead waive the commitment and pay a parent participation fee waiver of
$100 per family. In addition to being a supportive and active parent/guardian
who encourages the students to do their homework, be attentive in class,
contribute to the school community, and to attend on time and on a regular
basis, parent involvement is essential in developing a strong school community
and is essential in running a safe program for the children.
Parents who are volunteering must be attentive to the safety of all the students while you are
in the building helping establish a moral, ethical, and respectful environment,
where if you see rough play or teasing that we intervene and help students
resolve problems.

Parental presence in the classroom is expected if there are behavioral issues with children or at the request
of the teacher. Beyond that, for children who need the presence of parents for comfort and adjustment reasons,
parents are welcome to sit on the perimeter of the classroom while their children learn.
Parent/Teacher Meetings
The school shall arrange for a teacher-parent meeting 2 or 3 times a year to discuss student progress and
enhance overall performance.
